7 NIGERIAN FOODS THAT FIRES UP MEN’S LIBIDO

I recall this old adage that says “a delicious meal is the quickest way to a man (woman’s) heart. After all, what courtship would be complete without a romantic dinner?
But there are many reasons why men can lose their sex drive and simple factors like depression, tiredness, stress, excessive alcohol consumption, and certain medications can play major roles as well.
I asked a close friend of mine what she thinks about this new write up. She read through it and said “babes one essential fruit is missing” I got confused and asked what exactly, and she said “bananas, if only you know the wonders of bananas” obviously it worked for her.

Banana: Research shows that instead of eating an apple a day, we should have at least a banana each day to keep the doctors away. Benefits of banana far outweighs that of apple because it has many more nutrients and vitamins.  Bananas have two times as many carbohydrates as an apple, five times as much vitamin A and iron and three times as much phosphorus.  They are also rich in potassium and natural sugar.

Anyway, according to my friend, she says it gives excessive energy for s** whenever she has to get down with her hubby.
Almond:  Almonds have long been purported to increase passion, act as sexual stimulants and aid with fertility. They are nutrient dense and rich in several trace minerals that are important for sexual health and reproduction. Such as vitamin E, Selenium and Zinc. Zinc helps enhance libido and sexual drive.

Avocado: They are popularly known to be aphrodisiacs in most western countries because they are rich in unsaturated fats and low in saturated fats, making them good for your heart and arteries. Anything that keeps the heart beating strong helps keep the blood flowing to all the right places.

Seafood:  they are also one of the best sources of libido-boosting and also act as aphrodisiacs.
Citrus: Any member of this tropical fruit family is super-rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and folic acid. All of which are essential for men’s reproductive health.

Strawberry: Yes strawberries are sexy, and a good intake is thought to be crucial for sexual function in both men and woman. Strawberries are rich in antioxidants that benefit your heart and arteries. They are also rich in vitamin C which along with antioxidants has been linked to higher sperm counts in men.

Sweet potatoes: They are rich in potassium which helps fight high blood pressure, which is also associated with a high risk of erectile dysfunction. They are also rich in beta-carotene which provides the body with vitamin A and helps reduce infertility in a woman.

DARK CHOCOLATES ARE DISEASE-KILLING BULLETS

Dark chocolates which are also a girl’s best friend and a heart break remedy should be eaten at least twice or three times a week. Chocolates are packed with healthy chemicals like flavonoids and theobromine. Researches show that this little bean is a disease-killing bullet.

Dark chocolates are good for:

A healthy heart: those who eat one or two servings of dark chocolate each week reduce the risk of heart failure and high blood pressure.

Weight loss:  if you are wondering how you can add dark chocolate to your diet plan without putting on any extra pounds, the good news is that it actually is way easier than you expect. Dark chocolate is far more filling than  other lighter chocolates. That is dark chocolates lessens cravings for sweets, salty and fatty foods.  So ladies munching a few dark chocolates would help us stick to our diet.

Diabetes prevention:  Flavonoid increases nitric oxide production and helps control insulin sensitivity.

Higher intelligence:  next time you are under pressure on a work project, please don’t feel guilty about grabbing a dark chocolate bar. Not only will it help ward off the effect of stress, but it will also boost your brain power when you need it.

Foods that make you feel healthy and stay in shape

Being surrounded with plus size friends all my life (12, 14, 16 and 18) made me ask myself  "what would it feel like to gain a few extra pounds". So i went on a journey through self, added a few extras (moved from a size 6 to an  8) and i felt good with myself. But the challenge was staying in shape and not going below or above this size. This made me cultivate the habit of eating right, which started with eating natural and unprocessed foods.
I don't exercise (there must be someone like me who don't as well) although its the best but imagine having a long day and you tell yourself am too tired I will do it tomorrow, and it keeps going on and on and on . All it took was for me to eat right, timing and quantity of the food.
If your body mass index (BMI) is overweight or you have metabolism issues like high cholesterol and belly fat, you should restrict all high cholesterol foods.

Here are foods you can eat to make you feel awesome, eat healthy and stay in shape:
  • Vegetables: cabbage, broccoli, carrots, spinach e.t.c. they contain fiber and many nutrients that are essential for the human body.

  • Fruits: Watermelon, grapes, bananas, avocado, apple, oranges are very rich in fiber . Research shows that intake of lots of high fiber fruits makes our body immune to several diseases along with burning fats (especially belly fat)
  • Eggs: eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. the yolk is the most nutritious and healthiest part.

  • Nuts and Seeds: Walnut, cashew and peanut are rich in various nutrients but very high in calories. Its est to eat in moderation if you need to lose weight.
  • Tubers: Irish and sweet potatoes are healthy but high in carbohydrates. Eat in moderation.

  • High-fat Diary: butter, full-fat yoghurt, cheese, cream e.t.c are rich in healthy fat and calcium. Diary from grass-fed cows are rich in vitamin k2 which is very essential for good health
  • Meat: beef, lamb, chicken are good for your health.

  • fat and oil: Olive oil, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, butter and cheese are also good but should be used in moderation
Have you been in this situation before, what was your solution?

Egusi soup

Egusi soup is one of the easiest and commonly consumed food in Nigeria. Although most tribes have different ways of making it.
This was made with grounded melon seeds, palm oil, cowleg (Ox leg), stockfish, pomo, dryfish, crayfish, seasonings,  vegetables (pumpkin /ugwu leaf or  okazi or uziza) which ever option you prefer. Although i used okazi and uziza. this combo was heavenly.

share your view on how you cook yours and what you eat it with.
